The contracted form or genitive 's'?
Sometimes we confuse the genitive ‘s’ with the contracted form of the verbs is or has. Look at these examples: Sir Gawain died in Arthur’s arms. Here the ’s means the arms of Arthur. Arthur’s going to fight Sir Pellinore. (Arthur is going to...) He’s got a big sword. (He has got...) Here the ’s means is or has.
