Crowdsourcing, collaborative learning or cheating?

Students are using their mobile phones to cheat at exams, posting questions in forums. Schools have developed strategies to detect plagiarism automatically. Nonetheless the percentage of cheats can be so high (up tp 95%) that mass expulsion is impossible. Other students commission original work via specialized webpages, paying qualified tutors in less developed countries. In spite of being unacceptable student behaviour, this is a common business practice called "outsourcing" for which students will be asked to develop special skills. This article calls into questions the current belief in memorization, when information is just a click away. It raises the questions of whether punishing or encouraging teamwork and crowdsource if it is praised in the business world.
